New hires in at Clear Hayes

Clear Hayes ConsultingCommunications agency Clear Hayes Consulting has added fresh talent to the team, reported B and T.

Annie Standen comes aboard as communications and PR specialist. She returned to Australia after seven years in New Zealand, where she handled PR and media relations for Leverage, Lily and Louis, Auckland Tourism, Events and Economic Development, and Royal Caribbean Cruises, plus her own PR agency in Auckland.   

Akansha Singh takes up a content strategist role. She recently finished four years at Telum, where she was a content executive.

Wiese receives promotion at Wunderman Thompson

Wunderman Thompson Australia has promoted chief partnership officer in Perth, Melanie Wiese (pictured) to national chief strategy officer.

The position became available after Angela Morris departed the company to take on a new challenge.

Wunderman Thompson Australia CEO Lee Leggett congratulated Wiese on her promotion.

Georgia Bennett promoted to senior account director at Sefiani

Strategic communications and reputation agency Sefiani Communications Group has promoted Georgia Bennett to senior account director.

Bennett joined the group more than six years ago, starting with the corporate and public affairs team.

Sefiani managing director Mandy Galmes said Bennett was an example of showing great career development at the company.

“We love seeing our people grow and evolve in their careers with Sefiani. Georgia is a shining example of this. As well as being a talented professional, she contributes strongly to our values-driven culture that makes Sefiani a great place to work,” said Galmes.

She now leads teams working on communications programs across corporate and consumer-facing clients including Allen & Overy, Ferrero and L’Oreal Australia.

iD Collective runs Wonder Australia campaign

The iD Collective is running Goodman Fielder’s Wonder Australia account.

The new deal will have iD overseeing Wonder Australia’s PR work. This includes press office activity, creative kits, influencer management and talent procurement. One aspect of the campaign is to build awareness for the Wonder Recycling Rewards Program, a school program for recycling bread bags.

The iD Collective is also running strategic communications for Wonder Australia’s Eco Tag, with a long-term goal to remove 50 small plastic pieces from the waste stream.

Edelman scores Butterfly Foundation account

PR/marketing consultancy Edelman Australia has landed representation for health nonprofit Butterfly Foundation, reported B and T. 

The new deal will see Edelman run services such as strategic media relations, executive communications and thought leadership, media training, content creation, and events for the foundation, which provides support for people suffering from body image problems and eating disorders. 

The first project under this partnership is an integrated Christmas campaign to address eating disorder stereotypes. 

The account deal came in light of public concerns over binge eating or crash diets as a result of the lockdown.

“Their work is genuinely purposeful and makes a real difference in people’s lives. We are excited to work on creative ways to break down the stereotypes and stigma surrounding an issue that touches so many Australians,” said Edelman APAC corporate chief and healthcare practice executive sponsor Susan Redden Makatoa.

Thornton assumes AMI chair role

Andrew Thornton has been elected the new chairman of the board at the Australian Marketing Institute (AMI).

He was elected to the board after a few months as board member, and succeeded Lynda Cavalera.

The term is also Thornton’s second run, with his first term being from 2016 to 2019, when he became deputy chair.

Fig Tree Digital managing director Maria de Conno will be the AMI’s new deputy chair, following three months as non-executive director.

“It is an honour to be elected as the new chairperson of the AMI Board. This is my second time as Chair and it is a privilege to take on this role again. I look forward to working closely with the board of directors so we can continue to progress the careers of our members,” said Thornton of his role.

Agent99 lands new clients

PR agency Agent99 has won the accounts for seafood delivery business FishMe! and productivity leader Donna McGeorge, reported B and T.

The FishMe! deal involves PR and influencer relations, sampling events, and chef partnerships. Business owners Wilson and Janice Tiu tapped Agent99 for the account, based on the agency’s successful work on their online furniture store Luxo Living.

For McGeorge, the Agent99 team will run her thought leadership content and build up awareness for the launch of “The One-Day Refund: Take back time, Spend it wisely,” the third in her It’s About Time series of workplace efficiency guides. It is currently earmarked for an early 2022 release.
