Araya-Marvin joins Six Black Pens

She came in from Millers Point brand agency Principals, where she served almost 20 years as project management chief and business development director.

First Five Rungs taps new leadership

New Zealand Comms Council industry support group the First Five Rungs has selected new leaders. 

Becky Dawson of Mango Communications will succeed Lloyd Thomason of TRA as the chair of the executive committee. In turn, she will vacate her deputy chairperson seat to Zoë Macdonald-Mair of Quantum Jump.

Macdonald-Mair was previously the executive committee secretary and ran secretarial work for First Five Rungs’ Auckland team. Bridget Welsh of OMD will take over the latter role. 

The group also added Emma Hopgood of Mango, Tate Boden from VMLY&R NZ, and Jeremy Sinniah of Clemenger BBDO as new members. Hopgood is based in Auckland while Boden and Sinniah are in Wellington. 
Dawson was upbeat on the new challenges the group will face in 2022.

New hires in at Clear Hayes

Communications agency Clear Hayes Consulting has added fresh talent to the team, reported B and T.

Annie Standen comes aboard as communications and PR specialist. She returned to Australia after seven years in New Zealand, where she handled PR and media relations for Leverage, Lily and Louis, Auckland Tourism, Events and Economic Development, and Royal Caribbean Cruises, plus her own PR agency in Auckland.   

Akansha Singh takes up a content strategist role. She recently finished four years at Telum, where she was a content executive.

The Five by Five Global agency blossoms into spring with four new staff members.

Nigel Powell is in as business manager, bringing with him over 40 years’ organizational experience from being tour manager of Frontier Touring Co, working closely with the late founder Michael Gudinski. The move is Powell’s first foray into the communications circuit. 

“As Michael Gudinski’s right-hand man for several decades, Nigel’s life experiences read like a dream to me. He’s a fixer, a do-er, and gets shit done. He organises and does things properly: old school to the core, I cannot be more complimentary than that. I’m sure our office will run like a well-oiled machine when we are all back together under one roof,” said Five by Five managing director Matt Lawton.

Tiffany Gozal is onboard as designer. A graduate of UNSW, she recently finished up a year as lead graphic designer with RALLY4EVERAUS.

Mint Partners welcomes new account director

Integrated communications agency The Mint Partners has hired Nicole Craig as the new senior account director. 

Based at the agency offices in Paddington, Craig brings with her 15 years of experience in communications strategy development, influencer management, and partnerships in lifestyle and luxury accounts. 

She was previously employed at Sydney agencies EVH, BLACK Communications, and Merivale, plus a British luxury boutique hotel chain. 

“Nicole’s credentials are outstanding, she holds long-term client and industry relationships, a strong affinity with the luxury market and a demonstrated track record for delivering valued results. Bastion Experience taps new brand partnerships director
