Mixdown to hire digital editor

Melbourne publishing house Furst Media is hiring a digital editor for its music magazine Mixdown. The digital editor will research and produce new product, tour, music and industry content, and gear them towards musicians and audio professionals. The content may also be formed through collaborations with freelancers and industry stakeholders. Other tasks include assisting with the production of Mixdown’s bi-monthly print magazine, and liaising with the sales manager on exploring new sales leads. The ideal candidate must be journalism, media studies, or professional writing graduates who have worked at least one year in a media company or copywriting firm. They must be proficient in Wordpress and Drupal CMS platforms and major social media websites, and have a deep understanding of the professional audio and musical instrument industries, including digital analytics.
